Simple things – Stranger’s care
Once, I was travelling to Salem from Chennai in Thiurvananthapuram express. I was suffering from lack of confidence and poor health. I had some chocolates for refreshing myself with calories.
Wanting good air to bash my arid face, I decided to stand near steps of the coach. There I saw a young, pity and unclean man sitting near rest room. He symbolically asked me for cigarettes. I replied in negativity. Later I gave him those chocolates . He was happy to have it. He threw those wrappers near the rest room. Now, the Civil Service aspirant, sleeping deep inside me woke up. I directed him to put those wrappers in dust bin. He gladly did that.
Having reformed an individual, that too an unclean, illiterate one, I pat on myself. (Reader’s, wait for the revenge).
Then I went on to stand near steps. The humidity in air made myself to go unconscious. Few moments later a hand pat on my back. I turned back and asked him what was the matter. He symbolised at me to stand away from steps and stay safe. He taught me the safety and precautionary measures in train.
The literate, well educated individual stood ashamed in front of his care. I thought I utilized my educated knowledge to reform him. But he used his simple care on me to do the same. There I learnt few life lessons.
Education doesn’t matter. Following rules mean caring others. If you care for others then you will follow rules. Rules are made for orderliness in society. You no need to know each and every rule. If you care for others then you will follow it unconsciously. He cared for me and so he made me to follow the same.
Caring is following
